Country Music Hall of Fame

Wednesday morning we packed up the RV and headed north towards our destination, Nashville, TN.
Our first stop in Nashville was the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Owen Bradley's office
Owen Bradley was credited with building the first music business on music row. A singer and musician himself, Bradley initially led his own band and co-wrote multiple hits. In 1946, Bradley founded Bullet Records where he was recognized for his production success. In 1955, Bradley built his first independent recording studio, Bradley Studios. Bradley is accredited for playing a major role in shaping the sound of Nashville. In 1974, Bradley was initiated into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The museum had a temporary exhibit in place featuring one of my favorite country music artists, Luke Bryan. The exhibit highlighted Luke Bryan's career milestones, in addition to Bryan's memorabilia and awards.

Handwritten lyrics to "I Don't Want This Night to End"

The awards in the top left were from the success of Billy Currington's #1 single, "Good Direction", which was co-written by Luke Bryan. Below the awards, are a picture of Luke Bryan's custom boots which have his initials, LB, followed by a peanut to represents Luke's dad's peanut farm. On the bottom left is Luke and his wife, Caroline's, custom made outfits for the 2013 ACM awards. Luke is known for wearing Tom Ford, while Caroline wore a custom gold Alexander McQueen gown. 2013 was a big year for Luke when he won ACM Entertainer of the Year. In 2014, he achieved another career milestone when he was named 2014 CMA Entertainer of the Year.

The last piece of the exhibit was about Bryan's success with his spring break tour (which has now ended, sigh). However, now you can find him in Mexico in January performing at Mexico Rivera for an exclusive 4- night event. Resort packages average $3,000-$5,000. Who's ready to go?

Taylor Swift had a neat exhibit. On the outside, it was a tour bus inspired design, but on the inside, it was a recording studio with two sound booths. The four of us squeezed inside a sound booth and selected our favorite Taylor Swift song to sing along to. We applied the earphones that were available for us to wear and the music began playing. When we finished singing, we were able to listen to our newly recorded soundtrack and email a copy to ourselves as a keepsake. Stay tuned, because our cover of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is definitely going to be #1 on Itunes!

It was a fun day at the Nashville Country Music Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame featured a large span of country music from the early 1900s to present day. Although I'm not very familiar with early country music, it was fun to see the history of how country music has evolved over the years. The museum does a good job of offering every age group a piece of history to enjoy and reflect on.

While in Nashville, we stayed at a lakeside resort. Check out my recap of our weekend at Nashville Shores here.
