Lake Lanier Lights is a fun Christmas light display put up annually. It's not the cheapest attraction at $45/ carload, but it's cute and festive for the holidays. Heads up, sometimes the line to enter the park can be up to an hour-long on high volume nights! We waited for 20 minutes on the particular night we attended. All the cars sit at a standstill until traffic starts moving and then you start traveling through the light show area.
The light show took about 45 minutes to complete. At the end, you can park and tour the Lake Lanier Waterpark grounds, where they have fair rides and ice skating set up outside. Inside, they offer a small menu of refreshments like hot chocolate and small snack items. They also have Santa, who's available for family photos!
Back outside, the park had turned the waterslides into snow slides and kids were riding down them in inner tubes. We checked out the ice skating rink that was set up and attempted to skate, but honestly, it felt like skating on plywood. Nobody was really "gliding" across the ice. It felt like a workout as you tried to do a fast-pace scissor motion to gain any type of speed. It made for a good laugh as I attempted to "skate" my way across the ice rink.
